    Hey guys, welcome to this week’s episode of the Reclaim Podcast. I’m so excited to talk to you today and I feel like I say that every single week, but today’s a good one. I want to talk about developing your patience along your health and weight loss journey because rushing it is never good. Join me today because I’m going to share with you all around getting in the right mindset and developing the woman who you need to be in order to achieve everything that you want for your health, your body, your family, your future. Let’s get right into it.

    First of all, I just love connecting with you here and feel like I get so personal on these things, which is great. I just got in from a run. I’m sitting here and my hair is up in a bun like I’m in my sports bra and running shorts because I get so many great ideas when I’m out running. You get so much mental clarity and I’m sure you can attest to that too. Getting outside, fresh air, your mind wanders in a lot of places. Anyway, I was thinking this morning about the lesson in patience. I’ve talked to a few women over the last couple of days, actually. I like to ask about some of the challenges, the mindset struggles, the thought processes that get in your way when it comes to your health and your weight loss. A common theme this week was I get impatient. How many of you can relate to that? I can absolutely relate to that feeling.

    I get that feeling in my business growth. I am impatient. I’ve had to learn how to be a patient woman. That’s what I want to talk to you about today. When we try to rush the process, what I have found over the years, myself and my clients, when we rush and we’re trying to hustle, we hurry, we get sloppy. You get sloppy. You start to fall off the rails and then you get that screw it mentality because you get frustrated with yourself. If you’re trying to rush things, now you’re trying to do quick fixes and quick diets and it doesn’t work. Then you get all ticked off with yourself and then you’re like, well, this sucks. Then you just sit in a slump.

    Patience helps massively in your health and your weight loss journey. Learning these skills and developing this solid foundation and really developing that inner badass because girl, I just got to say it, this weight loss journey is so much more of a psychological and personal development journey than anything else. I’ve learned that in business too. It’s not a journey in just bringing in clients and making more money. It is a full-on personal development journey. You have to develop the woman and the body or the success will follow, but you got to develop the woman first. Everything just follows suit after that.

    I love asking myself this question and I’m going to ask you it right now. What if I just handed you the results that you wanted right now? It’s like, hey girl, happy Friday. Here’s your 30 pound weight loss and energy levels are through the roof. What would you do with that? Would you be able to handle and maintain that in your life right now being the current woman that you are? Maybe. Maybe not. I asked myself this question and I’m going to open up and share some personal stuff with you here, but in terms of business growth, I’ve got big goals, right? Just like you in terms of your health and your weight loss, girl, I got big goals, got big dreams, big aspirations. I’m working towards multi six figures. Well, actually I shouldn’t say that. I’m at multi six figures. I’m working towards seven figures, but if somebody handed me a platter and says, here’s your 200 clients and the million dollars that you wanted, would I be able to handle that? Frig, no. I have not developed the woman yet to handle that. Well, to manage it, right? It’s the same thing with you. Like if I were to just say, Hey lady, here’s your 30 pound weight loss and energy levels through the roof. Would you be able to maintain that in your life right now? Probably not. You have to develop the woman, develop the skills, develop that foundation, develop the way of thinking, develop her first, develop that badass first, and all of the results will follow. The body will follow, the success will follow everything. Same thing with me, right? I’m like, okay, I have to develop the woman, the finances, the money will follow, the clients will follow.

    So let’s talk about patience and some things that you can do that really help you practice patience.     All right. So how do you develop patience? I mean, I’m just going to tell you what’s helped me over the years. First and foremost, I asked myself this question on a regular basis. Am I the woman that can handle these results yet? And nine times out of 10, the answer is no. So when you think about, oh my gosh, like, I wish I had lost my 10 pounds or I wish I was showing my biceps, the definition and whatnot. And just thinking about all the results that you want, just ask yourself, it’s like, you know what, I’m here for a reason right now because this is the universe’s way or the higher power or whatever. I mean, I am a Christian woman. I believe in God. I find, and I like to tell myself, it’s like, you know what, this is teaching me a lesson. This is teaching me a lesson in patience right now. I don’t have the results that I want yet. They’re coming. They’re available. I don’t have them yet because I still have a lesson to learn in patience. That’s my mindset around it. And it makes it so much more just enjoyable, empowering, right? Because it’s like, okay, here’s a lesson for me. And this is, this is happening for me for a reason, right? So that’s the first thing. Really shift your perspective and think about it in terms of that mindset, right? This is teaching me a lesson in patience. It’s like, oh yeah, I’m an impatient woman. So here’s my little slap in the face to just slow down, stop being so sloppy and to really take it as a lesson in patience.

    Second thing I like to do is reassure myself, like you’re getting results now. We are so quick and our brain is so good at thinking about all the things that we have yet to accomplish, right? But what does that do? It shifts us into this place of lack versus place of abundance. Because if I’m constantly thinking about all the things that I want, all the things that I desire, right? It’s like, oh my gosh, I wish I was at my 500k years. Oh my gosh, look at so-and-so. She’s so much further ahead of me, you know, and you can like, I know you can relate to this feeling too. It’s like, oh my gosh, I wish I had lost my 10 pounds and oh, look at Sarah. She’s doing so amazing over there when we’re constantly looking at how far we have to go or what more we desire. We’re constantly like striving, striving, striving. Well, then you feel like you’re lacking, lacking, lacking. So I like to reassure myself and say, Leah, you have success right now, but you gotta look for it, right? And I’m just going to be your conscience right now and say, like, girl, you are successful right now. I mean, you’re listening to this episode because you really are making the effort to develop the woman who’s gonna get every single thing in her life that she wants and she desires, right? You’re doing the work. You’re doing the hard work. It’s not the sexy, cool work, but it’s the solid foundation. You’re building that inner badass. You are getting results now because you’re developing the woman, okay?

    The other thing I like to remind you too is you’re also getting results because you are, like, you’re seeing progress, right? You’re seeing progress in your lifestyle. You’re seeing progress in your fitness. You’re seeing progress in your nutrition, and also you’re seeing progress in the woman that you’re being. You’re seeing progress in how you respond to situations, right? You’re eating less at nighttime. You’re paying more attention to what’s going in your mouth. You’re being more mindful around your emotions and your eating and your coping mechanisms, right? Those are results, but we get so in our mind around the results on the numbers, right? I mean, for me, it’s like, oh my gosh, numbers in the bank account, right? Numbers of clients. For you, it’s like numbers on the scale, like numbers in terms of inches lost. Stop using numbers as the sole marker of success, right? If we’re using those as the sole marker of results, then girl, you’re going to get frustrated so fast and you’re going to give up way, way earlier in the game. So shift the focus, redefine the result, right? So define your results on those things that I just talked about. You know, the progress that you’re making with your fitness, the progress that you’re making with your mindset and your nutrition, your planning ahead, your prepping, you know, the, the nighttime snacking, the hydration, you’re getting results now, wake up and smell the coffee. They’re right there in front of you. So reassure yourself, right? That I find that really helps with the patience within me. It’s like, Leah, you’re getting results now. Look for them, practice gratitude because now that puts you in a place of abundance versus the striving, striving and in the place of lack.

    Okay. So slow down, stop rushing and hustling because you’re just going to get sloppy and you’re missing the mark in terms of the personal development. Second, reassure yourself you’re getting results now and redefining what a result is. That’s massively helpful. And I know you’re thinking like these things are really great girl. I know, I know they’re really great tips and you know what, if you feel like this is giving you a lot of help, you just wait when we’re working together. I actually talked to a woman the other day. She’s like, I can’t believe because I did a discovery call with her. She’s like, you’ve just spent an hour of your time talking to me about this and listening to my story. She’s like, I can’t even imagine the type of care and compassion that you give to a client. I’m like, yeah, you just wait. And another example of that, I mean, I could have wanted to rush the process with her and get her in the door right away, but no, don’t rush the process. You get sloppy, pay attention to what’s happening right in front of you. I paid attention and I listened to her story. She’s not a client right now, but who cares? It’s going to happen down the road. It absolutely will. You have to build that kind of confidence and belief in yourself, right? It’s that personal development and it’s the same thing with you, right? Taking the time now, developing that woman now, because girl, those results, the success will follow. They’re following the woman.
